I just added sugar to my macros (for no good reason, really, other than to have something else to worry about, apparently). I never really concerned myself with sugar because I don't, and never have, eaten what I consider to be a large amount of sugary food. But apparently I have a problem. For example, I logged my breakfast and lunch so far today:

1 Trader Joe's gluten free waffle with 1 Tbsp of natural peanut butter and a medium banana
4 oz beef tenderloin, half of a baked sweet potato, 1.5 cups of California style steamed veggies and a small (4oz) Breakstone plain cottage cheese

That's it. And I'm over my sugar limit.

Just wanted to get everybody's thoughts on this because I don't feel like I should be concerned, but maybe I am wrong.

Unless you're diabetic why worry about sugar? IMO, tracking carbs is enough, if its an issue just keep your carbs at a tolerable level.

MFP keeps the sugar goals really really really low. I try to use it as a "processed sugar" goal. so if i have sugar from vegetables, whole grains, and fruit, i don't mind going over. but if it's sugar from processed sugar, like white bread, candy, chocolate and the like, i count it
