Hello
So, let me just cut right to it. I am calorie counting and was doing well ( I thought) Until someone told me to make sure I check my sugar intake too. When I first came here I was JUST looking at calories.. well now its just everything on my list. I seem to consistantly go over on sugar, at times protein, and sometimes even sodium... and then I never ever reach me calorie goals, always under by ( usually) a few hundred, sometimes more. I am NOT eating bad, but something just isn't right. I also heard I shouldnt fret too much about sugar if its from fruits, since there is a lot of natural sugars in fruits.. but I still can't seem to get over it. I'm having a hard time working around this, and I want to be meeting my calorie goals so I can lose weight, not be stuck in the same place due to under eating. I can definatley eat more, not a problem! But, I don't want to over kill on fat, sugar, or sodium! I will open up my diary to the public, maybe someone can give me some advice? Keep in mind I don't have a ton of money to spend on a whole new food revamp ( right now ). I'll keep suggestions in mind for my next shopping trip! :flowerforyou:

Don't worry about the sugar if it is coming from natural sources. Don't worry about the protein. In fact, if you are using the default settings, your protein "goal" is probably too low and you should consider it more of a minimum. Lean protein is a good thing. Do watch your sodium. If most of your calories are coming from natural rather than processed food, you should be ok.0

I noticed sodium creeps up on me if I eat a flax wrap, which doesnt have much of anything else in it. Only 50 calories per serving. Or if I do a 100 calorie whole wheat bread bun. Seems the breads give the sodium, Maybe I'll just limit the amount I eat in a day.0

I was thinking the same thing yesterday. My protein is high (which is fine), my carbs are in the green but my Carbs which Sugars are in the red, and doubled up plus more! What i try and do is eat healthy and log everything that im going to eat, but if there is anything on the menu that is 'unhealthy' and has more sugars, then i swap it for something else. Sometimes i may have an item thats more calories but less sugar.
Its difficult to keep EVERYTHING in the green. You just got to do your best and not stress too much (i'm one to talk!).
As long as you are eating healthy plus exercising, i wouldnt worry too much.

I didn't excersise yesterday, I gave myself a break, body was in a LOT of pain! BUT I usually do pretty good with my work outs. I just make myself nervous when I see numbers go in the RED. I feel it prevents me from wanting to reach my calorie goals. last night I wanted to eat chicken and put it on a flax wheat wrap wich has almost nothing in it! But it would have pushed my sodium higher, and make me go over on protien more than a banana and cereal would have. Tonight I will be eating my damn chicken! lol0
