I increased my calories a week ago. I have put on 2lbs!! I upped my calories from 1300 to 1600. Is it normal to gain weight at first?

Absolutely normal! Your body doesn't yet realize that it's going to get more calories for good! It's holding on to what it sees as a feast for the next famine time. Give yourself a month, then worry about it!

Yes completely normal! Give it a few more weeks to even back out! Good luck!

Um, yeah. I JUST went through this. 1.5 weeks ago, I upped my calories to what I was SUPPOSED to be consuming (went from 1500 to 2000) and gained back 4 of the 5 lbs i had lost! Was so discouraged last week when I saw the number. Just weighed in today and the scale has started going down again, thank god. I've lost 2 of those lbs. So, my motivation is back up and there is hope!!

    I've just done this too...
Question: A lot of the people who are doing the "eat more/ lose more" kind of thing are also doing heavy lifting. Does this principle still apply if you're NOT doing heavy lifting?
