Any Personal Trainers out there?

So I am very close to graduating from college with a degree in Literature and Writing (Haha, I know. Endless jobs for me.). Anyway, I have always been passionate about helping people in fitness and health, and am eager to learn more about becoming a personal fitness trainer. I am also debating on whether or not to double major in Literature and Kinesiology.
My question for the personal trainers, is how did you become one? Which certificate programs did you do, and how much did it cost? I've been doing research online, but it would be nice to talk to some people who have already figured it all out!
Thanks!
