Cycling Question - Gear recomendations

Ok, so I am really good about getting on y bike, and i participate in quite a few cycling events a year. Most of those events are done to promote the greener option of biking around town as an alternative from the car. Although I ride, I haven't used my bike to get groceries since college (and lets face it, that was A LONG time ago). But, in an effort to be more environmentally friendly, I have decided to outfit my 17 year old hybrid with a rack and saddlebags to use for my gorcery runs throughout the week. I'll keep the hybrid for errands and my road bike, for ...well, the usual rides!

So, do any of my mpf community use such gear, and do you have recomendations? I have heard various problems with different stuff, but not first hand~

Thanks!

Ileana

Topeak is my favorite brand for anything cycling related. It has never failed me or my husband.
