Enjoying Pizza and Still Losing Weight

We make our own! (And I treat myself to a Deep Dish Chicago-Style pizza from Lou Malnati's every few months).
We usually make tomato basil on thin wheat crust, with no sugar added/reduced sodium sauce, and reduced fat (2%) cheese.
It's still fantastic.0 -
ive been wanting to try this out!! let me know when you get the crispiness figured out and ill try it too!0

I tried a bunch of different ways to make homemade pizza but it doesn't cure the craving. So I just work it in. I need pizza to live and if I need it more than once a week, so be it! I will just work harder that week :drinker:

I love pizza, I couldn't do without it. We go out for pizza about every two weeks and I get my fill of pepperoni and mushroom on a whole wheat crust. Its a tonne of calories, but I bust my butt in the gym for a couple of hours at least doing weights and cardio to make it fit into my calorie goal. Its hard work, but the reward is great! Yum pizza.0

Pizza is on my menu. I just plan for it and lean more toward the thin crust and veggies with a bit of meat.... or whatever else the kids and wife want. I eat it and adjust my intake or exercise to accomodate it. I LOVE the stuff!!0

sounds good for a gluten free diet as well
Just had to mention; I just got an email today from Dominos. Says they are now introducing a gluten-free thin crust.0 -
That should be interesting... I really like the Trader Joe's spicey spinach pizza's... their 140 cal each - I usually put loads of vege's on em and bake em. I had 2 today and used them as pita's with boca burgers as filler and vege's. They were awesome...0

I make my own--with "real" crust or tortillas or wraps. Make my own sauce, pick my own toppings and control the cheese! We eat pizza about once a week.0

hmm brilliant! If I could guarantee that there wasn't flour of any sort, I would totally try this.
I like to get bunless burger (gluten allergy) and they are so good, plus I'm cutting out 200+ calories! Not as creative as you though0 -
I just...eat pizza lol. I fit it into my week and enjoy every bite(including the crust).0

I don't seem to get fat from pizza, but bloated from the wheat crust, due to a gluten sensitivity, so when i can get gluten-free pizza, I feel less fat than when I get regular, even if I have the same or more calories with the gluten-free. Everyone's mileage may vary, but I just enjoy it when I have it and make sure not to have a big fat calorie day from other sources that day--0

I made the cauliflower crust for my family the other night and they loved it. I did too:) I will def make it again....and such a calorie difference!0

I don't make any modifications... just eat fewer slices at a time and you're good to go.
Turns out that 2 slices of my favorite pizza is only about 500 calories, anyway, so no big whoop.0 -
We still have pizza at least every 2 weeks. I make it at home so I make a whole wheat crust. I portion it out to make personal pizzas. I load mine up with all sorts of veggies.0

I work at pizza hut, so i eat A LOT of pizza. I've lost over 20lbs all together. If you just make sure to fit into your calories and eat a balanced diet, I don't really see the big deal.0

Tortilla and whole wheat pizzas are my favorites. Add lean meats with your favorite vegeys! Have fun with it! I make a Green bay packers pizza with green and yellow bell peppers! Go Pack Go! My wife and I lightly spreat extra virgin olive oil on the crust with a little pizza sauce.
This! GO PACK!0 -
I eat pizza once a week with the kids. I'm just more careful about my toppings and stop at 2 slices instead of 4, skip the breadsticks/cheesebread and drink water instead of Pepsi.0

my wife and I have pizza and beer on our "date" night every Friday. I have the domino's medium thin crust with ham and bacon. Its about 360 calories per .25 of a pizza. I use my exercise calories throughout the week for my weekend binges and finish within my weekly calorie goals. All about planning0

I can't eat anything like that over and over again. I'd start to hate it if I had it once a week. I like making my own at home with whole wheat crust. Love topping it with pesto, veggies and goat cheese. It doesn't really taste like delivery pizza though and it's more expensive (premade pesto is ridiculously expensive WHYYYYYYYYYYY).0

I am going to be enjoying some delicious pizza at a meeting today. Made sure it fit into my plan, so no guilt! It's a lifestyle...gotta eat what you love in moderation0

I LOVE CHEESE! But I'm finding that as I grow older, I'm becoming more lactose intolerant.
Suggestions anyone? I'd almost rather die than give up cheese.0
