BC Generic Question

Has anyone else been switched to Syeda from Yazmin by their pharmacy??? It happened to me about six months ago. I haven't been able to put my finger on what my problem is...I have basically lost all motivation to do just about anything, I feel frumpy, sad, upset, irritable, cranky, going to rip people's ****ing heads off but don't have the energy to actually do it! I feel like I am losing my mind! I want to blame the generic but I am not completely sure. I am planning on taking myself off it because I want to see if I feel better off it I know BC doesn't have withdrawals usually. I just recently got off of my antidepressant with the doctors approval and I started to feel better...then WHAM! This stupid girly emotional mess came flooding back.

I think I need a drink!

The pharmacy did not switch you your insurance company did. With regards to the generic, generic versions of drugs are no different than the "real" stuff. It's just cheaper for your insurance company to switch to a generic vs. the real thing.

Not true, the active ingredients are suppose to be the same but the filler isn't. Wellbutrin is a big example of this. It's been documented that the generic doesn't have near the effect the name brand does and they blame it on the filler.

actually...this is false. generics can be slightly different and still be considered a generic!

I was directed to decrease the dose about a month ago. I have been through the whole withdrawal funness! It isn't like my normal depression business if that is why you are asking. This feels more like biopolar kind of crazy. And by started feeling better...I meant from the withdrawal....I have been dealing with the wacky emotional mess since about September of last year. Asked the doctor to try a couple new antidepressants and none of them seemed to work. So I went to the doctor to get off them all together and discussed a more natural approach of vitamins and exercise...Which I can tell is helping a little...but there is still an underlying crazy...go ahead and make jokes...thats what I have been doing just to get through it!

My twin sister was on Yaz and ended up getting a blod clot from it. Not good, and I haven't heard anything good about Yaz even before that happened.
