I love love LOVE artichokes!
I hate that they take so long to steam I hate waiting the 40 minutes, but that's what makes them perfect!
I have heard of people grilling their artichokes, how is that done, does anyone know? I'd be interested to try a grilled artichoke.0 -
I plan on making these tonight.

I just made this recipe from Food52 website. I used boneless, skinless chicken breasts and no butter. Just some olive oil.

I love grilling artichokes!
First I make a marinade using orange juice,
olive oil, garlic, fresh cracked pepper, and
just a splash of soy sauce.
.
Then get a bowl big enough to hold the artichokes.
Fill the bowl with cold water, then add some lime juice.
Then take each artichoke, cut the top off, and about a
1/2" of the stem. lay the artichoke on it's side, and slice
it right down the middle. (should have 2 sides that look alike)
Take a spoon, and scoop the choke out. Yeah that fuzzy stuff.
Immediately place the two haves in the water solution. These
things will turn brown really quick.
After you're done, place the artichokes, with the marinade in a
large zip-loc bag making sure they are good and covered.
Place the bag in the fridge for an hour or two, flipping the bag
over a couple of times.
Now, fire up the grill and cook them on both sides. Total
cooking time should be between 10-15 minutes.
They come out so good, you don't need to dip the leaves in
anything!
This was post MFP, so take it easy!

I'm boring -- I just steam them lol! But I do steam them with a lemon in the pot if that makes a difference I like mine with lemon butter...mostly lemon with a little butter...so I squeeze the juice into a bowl and then toss the rest of the lemon in with the artichoke. Basic but yummy0
