30DS newbie

This is my first day on MFP and I have been reading tons of blogs and posts. I was wondering if anyone had advice or recommendations for the 30DS with Jillian Michaels. Also, If any bigger people have done it. I weigh 270lbs (this is my first time actually admitting that) and I want to drop the weight in a healthy manner. I read that this workout is tough but very good. I am willing to work my buns off in order to get in shape but I know for a fact that I am going to need tons of motivation.

I think its a good workout, but its really tough! Its jumping jacks, and getting on the floor for crunches, then push ups, then jumping jacks and that kind of thing. I, personally, have a tough time getting up and down like that! But for me, the first time I actually got through the entire first level, I was very proud of myself0

Jillian often says that she has people that weigh 300, 400, pounds doing these things. It won't be easy, but then, that's the idea.0

Hi! We weigh the same. In the first cycle (which I only did for 8 days), I could barely get through the jumping jacks without having a rest.. now (on cycle 2 - 5 days in) I can do them without stopping and could do more. I found the first 2 days were really difficult and my legs were so sore! I took the third day off and then went back to it. You build up strength and endurance really quickly with this though - and it feels easier each day. For me, I switched from doing it in the evenings to the morning, even though I have to get up at 5:30 now. I have more energy and feel better that way - it also helps me get lots of water in early and it is cooler.
