I miss my couch

Hello! I've been lurking around here for the past couple of weeks just trying to get a feel for this healthy living stuff. It's definitely not as hard as i thought it would be, but still... it's not easy. I went jogging for the first time in 3 years today. It didn't go at all like I planned. I thought i would just jump right back in there where i left off and burn down a mile in 6 minutes... MMMmmmm, not so much. more like a half mile in 6 minutes, with me panting and gasping, crawling back up my driveway, begging my dog to let me have a lap from his water bowl because i didn't have the energy or breath to make it to the kitchen sink. Pshew, Anyway, I am really trying to lose a few (ahem... 35) pounds and get back into some kind of shape, and I stumbled across this app. I'm hoping that if I can make a few friends here that have similar goals to mine, that maybe we can encourage one another and hold each other accountable for sticking to our goals. So feel free to add me to your friends list, and let's get moving! ( I really do miss my couch though.)

Already your friend, haha, but I feel you and we have similar 30 pounds/back to old energy level goals. I've been starting with just walking, interspersed with more intense walking and next week, with my doc's okay, am gonna start trying to tips from the couch-to-5k site, with jogging interspersed with quick walking for 20 mins or so and so on. I've never been much of a runner so it's pretty intimidating but if we don't try we'll never know I guess!
Good luck and let's do it, let's stick to our guns this time0 -
Hi! I agree that its tough to get back into the swing of a healthier lifestyle. I have found that everyone here is very supportive and helpful. Welcome and you can do it! I sent you a request0

Yes, everyone here is absolutely wonderful! I've never seen such a supportive group of strangers! I am super glad I found this app and website. Throughout my days, I run into situations where I am tempted to forget about my goals and indulge my fat side... but then I come here, and someone always puts me right back on track.0

I hear you...except I havent truly exercised since high school, which was 15 years ago. I went out and bought an eliptical, and hopped on thinking aw....this wont be bad. Only only lasted 10 minutes and was dying. My muscles hurt so bad, but I got back on the next day and tried to go a minute longer. Today I did rollerblading which was easy (I thought) but I am feeling it now. I so badly want to lay on my couch, but I make myself do a little something every night. Good luck to you and you can add me if you want.0

Just add you....
I'm 22 and always hated working out... I was an expert in cutting gym class at high school.
Now I really need to lose 25 lbs (I have hyperinsulinism so gotta lose the weight in order to cure the condition)
Love your jogging story, I defenetely been there, for now, I'm working out with a Wii game called just dance, which burns tons of calories but it's fun.0
