Blenders

Just had to say goodbye to my black and decker blender I had for 4 months because it no longer worked... anyone have any suggestions for good blenders?

    Depends on what your wanting..
I needed a vitamixer but did not have 700+ dollars to spend on a blender... I looked on ebay and found a MTN commercial blender that works great!

    Still 200.00 bucks...

I own a Vitamix, but previously used a KitchenAid that was about $80. It did not leave chunks in my smoothies and the motor was more powerful than a Cuisinart that I burnt out.

I researched online and ordered a "Bullet" blender. Then I went into Fred's Dollar Store and saw something for half the price. It is called the "Elite." I have had it for months and use it quite often. I cancelled the order on Amazon for the "Bullet."

We love our Ninja too!! Just don't bother with the "Kitchen System" -- lots of people have burnt out the motor trying to mix cookie dough!

My dad got me a little GNC blender thingy for Christmas and I absolutely love it! I used to have a Ninja Pro that I liked, but it was so big and I wanted a smaller one. And the GNC one actually works better (IMO) than the Ninjo Pro did. It's not a full size blender though, but for making 1-2 servings and on the go drinks it's great!

JC Penney has one that's the same thing for about the same price, it's made by Cooks, I've used mine for years. It's great for smoothies and drinks. I use my big kitchen blender for anything major.

The Vitamix are $400-450..... not 700

I got mine for $325 but i had a coupon for $100 off.

Have you ever seen the videos comparing the Vitamix and Blentec? There's no contest, Blendtec is a toy - it can't do what the Vitamix can do.

I'm always looking at yard-sales for the older blenders when they "still" had the standard removable base that would fit only mason jars, I use mason jars on these blender bases just like the bullet for personal shakes / mixes etc, and they are generally over engineered so last about forever :)

I also have the Ninja 1200. It's fantastic! It also doesn't cost as much as a Vitamix or a Blendtec. I make great smoothies with it.

I have a regular old Hamilton Beach blender, it's one piece so I don't have to take it apart to clean it. It was probably 30 or 40 bucks, it blends pretty damn well, and it has been around for 3 1/2 years.

maybe because I am new to having a Ninja...I hate that when you clean the blender you have to take the blade out of the ninja...I kinda like blenders where it's simple....I ahve poured in my ingredients and forgot to put in the blade...you have to dump it out and start over

More garbage that's made in china. The ninja is a piece of crap, i've used one - a friend of mine owns it. She's been through 3 of them already. They burn out fast, and they do not have the insane power that the vitamix has.

You can not pulverize in the ninja. It's just not possible. I include EVERY part of the fruit/vegetable in my vitamix smoothies - pits, peels, its all healthy goodness.

I've wanted a Vita-mix for about 10 years, no joke. I finally got one this year for Christmas. I simply love it. I make smoothies in it that have the texture of milkshakes, without batting an eye. I make soup in it, and it is smooth like nothing I have ever gotten with a stick blender or another regular blender. It is quite the investment, listing for $600 at Williams-Sonoma, when I got it, it was on sale for $500 and I got 1/3 off that (for my Professional Series 500). You can find sales on Vita-mixes at various places though. It actually blends smoother than the commercial blender I use sometimes during the summer making frozen drinks (not mine, but I'd love to own that one too!)

If that is way out of the price market you're looking for, I'd go with something with a good solid base. If it feels like you'd break it if you dropped it...
