I made a big mistake today... :( I ordered a small milkshake from Chick Fil A. It was the new babana pudding one. It wasn't until I got home that i saw it has 780 calories! OMG I know I shouldn't have ordered it and I feel like crap now, not to mention I'm 200 calories over for the day. So frustrated, and I'm still waiting for my doctors orders giving me the ok to exercise. grrrrr Damn milkshake!!

You had more than 471 calories left yesterday. It balances out.

And anyway, it's only 200 calories over. It's not like you're drinking one of these every day. (Although I can see how that would be a temptation. Was it completely awesome? Because it sounds like it.) Don't sweat it. This is not enough to hinder your weight loss.

Tomorrow is another day! Atleast it was only 200 over and not 2000! Don't beat yourself up over it :)

Whoaaa! 780 cals! I didn't know any drink could have those many calories and that too in a SMALL size! Wow! Just a suggestion, you should probably finish off your day with 2-3 cups steamed veggies with seasoning and a fruit! Don't worry about it though... Get back on track from tomorrow. If you have the mfp app on your phone, try looking up nutrition details for foods you order before you order them. I can't remember how many times I've driven past places because I checked for calories... Good luck!

Don't feel like crap. It happens. Having something like that occasionally and moving on will make you more likely to stick to healthy eating in the long run. A lot of ultra strict people who agonize about everything eventually fail, because living like that all the time isn't sustainable for most people. When they splurge once, they feel like they failed anyway so just go wild. The more successful strategy is to deal with occasional splurges and keep going without guilt. If your calories come close to averaging out for the week, you still make your calorie deficit.

I totally support milkshake related lapses. I have like 800 +calories left today due to squirreling away calories for a dinner that got postponed and this has me totally wanting to splurge on a milkshake. If I wasn't gross from working out, I might go get one. Instead, I'll make something in the blender

Beating yourself up over it is not going to help. You ordered a shake and you enjoyed it. Let it go. Tomorrow is another day and beating yourself up will most likely lead to more bad food.

It's OK to cheat. If you don't chances are you will binge even worse down the road.

On Sunday I traveled and cheated... great burger, fries *AND* a shake. I mean, who can resist this?

This is an actual picture that I took! It was awesome!! :)

You are an adult, you can make a decision to have something you shouldn't and pay the price for it or choose something else.

Life is way too short to beat yourself up every time you don't do the right thing...

Oh man, that burger and shake pic loooks amazing! It was mentioned even if I went over for my calories one day, it is okay beaucse I was under the day before and it evens out. I thought each day was supposed to be under or at the calories. I didn't know to figure it for the week. So do you figure calories for the week or the day?

As long as your calories are at goal or under for the week, it will be fine. If I go over one day I try to even it out by going under the next. No worries! =)

Exactly! I had a terrible day at work yesterday and then I got stuck in traffic so I had a Bud Light Lime at dinner....which put me over for the day, but I knew I was under both previous days so it's all good.

Takes 3,500 calories to make 1 pound, so 200 over for 1 day won't even register.

You have a deficit built in anyway, it's not like you're going to gain weight for going over your goal (unless you are at maintenance). You would lose slightly less for the week. 200 calories over goal is barely anything though and might even be beneficial if you're often under.
