Trying to stick to a new workout

It was recommended to me I post this here instead of in the Introductions board.

Hi all, fairly new to MFP and today is day zero for another whack at doing a BeachBody workout. I'm hoping by exposing myself publicly doing it I will stay motivated enough to finish this time.

A year ago my wife and I started Power 90 and did it to great success... about about 70 or days of it. Then she went and visited her family and I lost my motivation. I failed to finish the last two weeks.

A few months later we started P90X and powered through about 60 days. She visited her family and I just wasn't motivated. 30 days short.

After Thanksgiving and after our family visits it was time for Insanity. That workout is crazy intense and we rocked it out for about three weeks. Then she started feeling sick and weak, turned out she had gotten pregnant. ( yay ^-^ ) Sadly though, once again without a workout partner, I stopped as well.

Well, I really started to notice a couple of weeks ago that the downtime over the last four months was doing bad things to my love handles, so I've decided to go at Insanity again. My wife obviously cannot do it with me so I've recruited my 3 year old daughter to workout.

TL;DR I'm great at not finishing workouts and I'm hoping this time I can do it with the help of my daughter and public pressure.

    I have trouble finishing programs, too. Last summer I wanted to get in shape and did some research on the different fitness vids. Most of the Beachbody vids looked way too difficult for a weakling like me, so I went with Gilad's Quick Fit System. I really enjoyed the workouts and did the workouts without fail for 60 days, then my fall semester came around and I just didn't have the time (I worked full time and went to school MORE than full time), although I really did try to get a workout in here and there.

    I just started the Be Fit in 90 program on youtube about a week ago, and I'm hoping that it's something that I will complete before moving on to Beachbody. I'm posting daily on the 24-hour May challenge thread in hopes of shaming me into making sure I DO workout.

    I've attempted the P90x program several times and right now I'm finishing my fifth week and I have never been so motivated in my entire life now that I'm finally seeing the results I want through hard work of exercising and healthy eating. Also the other big reason that I've been able to stay on the program and eating healthy is that I'm in Afghanistan so going out to eat isn't really an option and with the time I have no real reason not to exercise, the real test will be when I get back to the US, if Ill be able to maintain the motivation and the healthy eating habits. If you're looking to restart one of the beachbody programs I'll help keep you motivated as best as i can!

    When I got home today my wife told me that my daughter asked "when daddy gets home can we workout again?"

    I think she'll keep me motivated =D

    Woo hoo! Today was Insanity, Day 7. Made it a whole week and enjoyed the day off. Looking forward to tomorrow.

    Cardio, dinner, then Diablo all night!

    Good. Day 7 is good. Tomorrow will be better and the day after that, even better. And I like your 3yo's attitude. Kids are so awesome!!:smile:
