Just Getting Going

I know you've been there -- you work hard all week mentally staying focused, sweating, eating smaller portions while desperately wishing for a chocolate shake, you pride yourself on your dedication, you feel better --

Then you step on the scale and the number is the same.

Surely, this means that you've lost inches! You bust out your measuring tape...

And here's where I DON'T have a happy ending. Nothing has changed and, surprisingly, the water weight I thought I lost the week before appears to have returned to create a tight, bloated belly. So the measurement is LARGER. I can't help it, I'm a little disappointed.

So, I drink A LOT of water a day (definitely more than 2 liters), my diet isn't high in sodium, and I work out consistently (thanks to that crazy woman Jillian's 30 Day Shred). What am I doing wrong?
