Good morning!
I went for my jog first thing this morning. I actually ran .35 miles at one time! I thought I was going to die but I did it. I couldn't run much more after that. lol. I have to cram a "run" in before DH goes to work so I only get about 30 minutes. I feel better for getting it done early. I will burn more calories cleaning today. I still haven't touched the garage sale stuff. I think I am just overwhelmed and don't know what to do. I must get started today! DH is spending his evenings out working on his car (I taught him everything he knows. ) so he's not much help right now.
CP, you are super sweet (pun intended) for doing all the research on sugar! I hate research so I just ask other people questions. I'll do some more looking at those links in that blog. Don't the stores sell raw sugar that hasn't been processed? Or maybe it's all been processed in one way or another. Regardless of what kind I use I think I am headed in the right direction. I've been brushing my teeth after meals to help with the sweet cravings. So far it has seemed easy. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Nah. Maybe I really wasn't addicted as badly as I thought. Or maybe going 36 hours without isn't enough to cause withdrawals yet.
That's my novel for the day! I think I am going to try to sweep and mop before Alex gets up. Have a "sweet" Tuesday!
(Can't think of a boogaloo! )

Just got back from Bikram. Felt wonky the whole time (might still be my period playing havoc on me)

Now, I have to eat, and then write for an hour.

Not much time to say anything boogaloo:tongue:

    Take care.:flowerforyou:

Just got back today. Still feeling the train ride. I'm off to the gym and some much needed yoga this afternoon.

Until tomorrow, when I start to catch up.

Hello ladies! It will be nice when some of our vacation folks come back. I think I saw Karen poke her head in - hi! :flowerforyou: Not sure what happened to some of our other newbies like Nicole (?PSUgirl?) and Anne.

Anyway, I flaked last night and forgot to do my pushups. I did go to aerobics and she did some upper body work at the end, so I'm a little sore. Tonight is belly dance!!! And then I need to remember to do pushups when I get home. My energy is already flagging a bit because I stayed up too late and had to get up early so I could get to work early so I can leave in time to make it to class. I want to go eat a granola bar to wake me up, but I will try yogurt first. I always crave carbs when I am sleepy.

Good job on getting your run in early, MM! I am toying with the idea of trying trail running sometime this summer, but I'm a little scared. There is a running store that leads runs once a week going to different parks and such, but I think the runs are a bit longer than I have done and are certainly more hilly. But it seems like it would be fun to run on trails instead of the treadmill.

    Belly dance boogaloo! :blushing:

    Mary we missed you!
CP, hope belly dance class goes well tonight!
Today's definitely been harder. I am 1 gram under in the sugar category. AF hit hard again this afternoon so my chocolate craving went up. So I tried a tbs of almond butter, some cocoa powder and about a 1/4 tsp of sugar. Well, it was kind of nasty but it did taste a little like chocolate so maybe that will help with my craving.
Wheat is not a problem at this point. Just sugar. I'm on here to vent about how wonderful sugar is so maybe I will get it out of my system. I'm just plain hungry and 6 pm is still a little ways off. I just keep reminding myself that I will not die...this is good for me. It hurts though.
Maybe if I get back to cleaning it will help get my mind off food for awhile. :ohwell:

Hey, MM. . .are you allowed dried fruit? Let me know. . .I'll fix you up with my raw brownie recipe (you need dates for the sweetness).

And, Welcome back Mary! You were sorely missed.:flowerforyou:  :flowerforyou:

I read on one website that dates are okay. I think that's the only dried fruit I can have. I would love to have your brownie recipe! Thanks!

Warning: these are not low calorie, so manage your portions accordingly. But, it's all real food, so better for you (at least that's what I tell myself. . . ) than an actual brownie. I usually make just half of this recipe (which is half of the original one)

    Jennifer Cornbleet's Raw Brownies:

3/4 cup walnuts (raw is preferred)
    5 pitted medjool dates
    2.5 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
    1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Chop 1/4 cup of the nuts and set aside. Process the remaining nuts and a dash of salt in a food processor with the s-blade (I have a mini-one that works just fine for this) until finely ground. Then, add the dates and process until the mixture sticks together. Add the cocoa powder and vanilla and process until mixed. If it's still looks dry, add a few drops of water.

Then, I dump the whole thing into a tupperware-ish container that I think is around 4x6 inches and press it into a brownie shape. Then, press the reserved chopped nuts over the top. Enjoy, and remind yourself that this should not be the cornerstone of your diet. (at least that's what I do). It solidifies if you chill it for an hour or so, but I can never wait. It will solve your chocolate craving, I promise.:flowerforyou:

Thanks V! I know this will help! I will try to only have it when I need a "fix"! DH will probably help me eat them too.

Hey MM - do you know if there is a push-up thread for July? I looked and couldn't find it. So I will just post here for now - I did week 3, level 2, day 1 (repeating on level 2 since I took a couple of weeks off), plank-style:
    12
    17
    13
    13
    20 (min 17)

And, belly dance class was fine. A couple of people were there with friends, but most were on their own like me. I think the instructor went a little easy on us the first day. I definitely can tell that this will loosen up my hips! I actually think my hip joints were popping a little bit while I was trying to do some of the moves... Not much of a cardio workout yet, but fun.
