I read this article today:

http://www.glamour.com/health-fitness/2012/04/weight-loss-would-you-have-shocking-new-surgery-to-lose-just-25-pounds

There is a new surgery, Primary Obesity Surgery, Endoluminal (POSE) for people who are considered overweight but not obese. Basically, their stomach is folded in half and stapled so they can still eat whatever they want - just a lot less of it. The woman they interviewed hasn't had any luck with all the popular diets, so she paid over $11,000 for the surgery and lost 32 pounds in 6 months. Another lost 33 pounds in 17 months. Patients are even taking out a second mortgage to pay for it.

As I was reading, I couldn't help but think I'd much rather use that money for a gym membership and to hire a babysitter or cleaning service or anything else to make my day a little easier so I can go the gym instead.

Thoughts?

Yes! I saw this too! And i was shocked! We could buy a pretty decent used car for that much money! I'm so glad we are having success on here! Its kinda crazy people would do that! I would most definitely pay for a personal trainer and healthy home delivered meals before i would pay that much for surgery!

Lol I actually bought my 2007 Mustang for roughly that and there's absolutely no way I'd ever trade it for surgery to lose 25 pounds... There's so much more I would rather do with that much money!
