HRM chest straps?

I've just found the polar F6 for £48 but i noticed on the advice it said about not wearing the chest strap over scar tissue or large moles? i have a mole right where the chest strap would go and i am getting it removed in sept but will be left with a scar. is this really a problem, or could i still use the strap? or does the polar F6 work without the strap? or should i look for a HRM without a strap? - i know the ones with the straps are supposed to be better

    I have 6 scars from drain tubes maybe about 1-2 cm each that my f-6 strap goes over and it's not caused me any problems. Maybe they are afraid it could irritate?? Not sure but mine does just fine.
