Um, these are always weird.

Hi, I'm Bryan your average married middle aged fat guy just trying to get a taste of thin and fit. I have a beautiful younger wife and 3 kids so my motives for getting fit are varied. I used myfitnesspal to lose a whole bunch of weight, around 150 pounds a few years ago after a divorce and then I met my wife. Spending time with her took away from my workout time and I slacked off. Then I got serious again.

Then I got cancer. Nothing makes you lose the desire to cook separate meals for yourself and work out like chemo. Got through that actually a little heavier. Chemo is not always the weight lose miracle depicted in the movies. Well, I got through with chemo, and while planning a wedding doctors found cancer again.

Now I'm married and cancer free, but the married life made me complacent. I guess I'm here out of a combination of vanity and sense of mortality. Though I feel like my motives are more pure this time than when I hit the gym in the strange desperation of trying to find a woman after a divorce left me wandering and scared.

Anywho. It's all good. I'm interested to read other people's struggles and successes. I look forward to being a part of this group.

Bryan
