Total calories = all the calories consumed
net calories = calories consumed - calories burned by exercise

Net calories = Total calories consumed - calories burned from exercise.

You can see it clearly by going to My Home>>Goals. Carefully review the info on the right side of the screen.

NET is what you SHOULD be eating each day and you should plan it accordingly to eat what MFP is giving you each day. I wouldn't eat when you're not hungry of course and no if you don't meet your **1200 (example of calories) here and there and don't always eat back exercise calories you WILL NOT automatically go into 'Starvation Mode'.

So my net calories would be 1300 a day. Is that enough to lose ? My net was 1050 and the scale would not move? Fitness pal advise 1450 a day. I need to lose 10 pounds having a very hard time getting in 1450 calories.
