Not meeting carbs and fat

I'll be the first to admit that I don't know much at all about nutrition. I just started using MFP, although I initially signed up several years ago it seems...
Im trying to stay within the guidelines that MFP has provided so that I lose 1.8 lbs a week initially (I'll scale back eventually to about 1lb a weekI hope). Based on these guidelines, Im not eating near enough fat or carbs. I'm going over in my protein and hitting the calories ok. Aiming to drop about 50 pounds over the long haul.
What problems might come from this - what is the benefit of making sure that Im hitting each benchmark provided?
I am doing 45 minutes of exercise daily, if that means anything in relation to my diet. Until this week, I haven't exercised at ALL in over a year - so I know my body is dealing with some major changes.
Suggestions?
