So I was thinking, if we had robots that made everything and did everything, there would be almost no jobs. I mean, I guess we would still have entertainers, prostitutes, politicians, scientists, social workers and stuff, but pretty much most of us would be useless food bags. So, how would we distribute wealth? And, what the heck would we do all day?

I love my job. I'd like to keep doing it, and I NEED to be independent and earn my own money. I couldn't manage without that. I value any time I get to relax (which is rare at the moment - working 15 hour days a lot), but I don't know how I'd fill my time if I couldn't work. Even now, when I get the chance to rest I end up getting bored because I can't afford to go out and do things. My time is split around 85% work, 10% fitness/health, 5% total rest (though I do find time to browse the 'net a bit when working).
I couldn't cope. Fortunately, in the past few years I've seen the results first-hand of an attempt to get a computer to do my job. They weren't pretty. I'm not concerned, yet.0 -
