I'm thinking about buying a heart rate monitor but I don't know what to look for. Any suggestions? Price is a bit of a block as well

they sell pretty inexpensive ones at Walmart and Academy. I purchased mine online. It's a PolarFT with the chest strap. It's very accurate. I only wear it during workouts though. I ordered it at bodytronics.com and they have free shipping. here's another link that will help you compare monitors
