I just got my very first blender (I've been waiting years to get one) and would love to hear your favorite recipes for smoothies etc. So excited to start using it and want to know what works best for you users!

  • I love almond milk and one day I decided to break out my old blender just to see what I could whip up.

I buy Earth's Own almond milk unsweetened for my shakes and Silk true almond original for my coffee. The consistency is different, Earth's Own is best for shakes because it's more watery.

    My favourite breakfast shake is:
    1 glass almond milk
    1 banana
1 - 2 cups of frozen berry mix
    2 ice cubes

blend for about 20 - 30 seconds and serve. This will give you two glasses of Berry shake. It is delicious.

I am trying to figure out what I could substitute the banana for, I tried cantaloupes but it wasn't as good. Any ideas?

    Matcha Green Tea Smoothie:

    250g vanilla soy milk
    125g ice water
    125g cold brewed green tea
    1/4 banana
1/3 cup frozen low fat vanilla yogurt
frozen fruit - I use Europes Best Caribbean Blend (2 pc of each fruit)
1 tspn matcha green tea powder
    4 ice cubes

I love this smoothie and so does everyone I make it for! I've been irregular for years but within 20 minutes of drinking this I always have a very healthy bowel movement.

I second this one! I make this shake too but I add a BIG handful of spinach to get my veggie servings in. With all the berries in there, you can't even taste the spinach and it stays a nice red/purple color. Yum!

made this Blueberry Oatmeal smoothie this morning. It makes about 6 ounces I guess and kept me full for 2.5 hours. I will probably add 1/4 cup of water tomorrow as it i had to add water to the last bit in the glass to get it out. Too thick to drink the last bits-lol-

1/2 Cup Almond Breeze Vanilla milk
    1.5TBSP frozen wild blueberries
    1/4 cup quick oats
1 TBSP 0% Greek Yogurt Vanilla flavour (pc brand)

    Puree!

Whey protein and water. Maybe add some peanut butter.

...and maybe a little bacon too. Yeah, that should be good.

    Green Monster!

    1.5-2 cups of spinach
    1 cup of almond milk
    1/4 cup yogurt
    1 sliced banana
    5-6 ice cubes

I make this every morning and sip on it for about 2 hours...love it!

If you like peanut butter you must get PB2 powder (low cal/low fat powdered natural pb) to add to smoothies! It's like a Reeses PB cup in a drink if you add it to chocolate whey protein (blend with ice!)

    1 c. water
    1 1/2 handfuls raw spinach
    1/8 c. fresh basil
    1/4-1/3 bunch parsley
    1/2 c. pineapple
    1/2 orange
    1/2 banana

    YUMMY!!!

P.S. You can add protein powder (like Sun Warrior Warrior Blend and/or raw egg(s) to this for protein.

I also recently treated myself to a new blender, and made a smoothie well worth passing on. I used a (vanilla) whey protein powder I got at Costco, but that would be optional. I also used 3/4 cup flax milk (almond milk or dairy milk would work fine too), 1 cup raspberries, 1/2 cup blackberries, handful of ice cubes. With the protein powder, it was under 300 cals. Without it, it would be under 150 cals, and a fantastic evening treat, or afternoon pick-me-up.

    @RoboLikes:

I'd like to try that one. Do you measure the spinach totally loose, or semi-packed, or what?

You don't really have to measure it out, two good handfuls should do the trick. If you are going to measure it, then pack it down. Hope you like it!

I dont have exact measurements, but my favorite is a mix of

    Light Chocolate Soy Milk
Frozen Strawberries (if they're frozen, then they act as the ice and you don't need to add any ice cubes to the mix)
    Bananas
    Pineapple

Love this post! Going to steal the Green Tea smoothie.MMMMM TEA!

    1 cup Almond Milk
    1/2 cup ice
1/2 cup mixed berries (frozen or fresh)
    Vanilla Protein Powder

    1 cup Almond Milk
    1/2 cup ice

I read on a website that someone made mixed berry and kale smoothies, which were supposed to be delicious, haven't tried that yet though.

Go to Costco or Sam's and get a large (3 lb.) bag of Dole frozen fruit; it makes a good filler when you're missing something. And always keep yogurt around (Greek is best but Dannon Low Fat will work in a pinch, especially the vanilla flavor.

    2 bananas
    1 - 2 mangos
    1/2 cup blackberries
    1/2 cup blueberries
8 oz. Dole Mango, Orange Banana or something similar
    12 oz. of Vanilla Yogurt.
Fill with as much frozen fruit as needed to fill blender.

Blend, and enjoy. The yellow mangos from Costco are really flavorful

    One I like:

    1 c water
    1 banana
1 c blueberries (fresh or frozen)
1 scoop protein powder (I buy Dale's raw protein powder)
a big bunch of spinach and/or kale

sometimes instead of water I use 1 c of coconut or almond milk.
