Hi, I am 32yrs old, I have a 1200 calorie goal and I am wondering if I should always be under the goal for carbs fat and protein?? Or focus on calories primarly?? I find it confusing?? Need help.. Are these (fat carb and protein) a guide or do they have to be followed 100%

The % (daily allowances) are MFP strong recommendations. You can change the % if you feel you need it to be different. I modified my to allow me more protien and less carbs (but only changed them by approx 10-15%). I also track my saturated fats and sodium.

IMHO watching the caloric intake is the most important and the rest are guidelines to try to reach/match. I wanted to watch my sodium as I was struggling w/ my workouts. I found that my sodium consumption was really, really elevated. So, now I watch sodium as my runner up to calories and then the others behind them in a matter of importance.

I focus mainly on calories. I keep an eye on the overall % of the others (shown in a pie chart on the iPad app) but more on a weekly basis rather than a dail basis as some days I'm higher in 1 category but other days I'm lower. I figure it all just balances out in the end if you keep near to the goals.
