So the doctor told me today that he is 99% sure I have an allergy to gluten. He wants me to go on a gluten free, high protien, low carb diet. Any suggestions?

My GI doctor told me the only true test for that is a biopsy through endoscopy. Are you seeing a GI doctor? Just a suggestion for a true diagnosis.

My former GI doctor told me my elimination diet to find out what was not working for my digestive tract was BS. My naturopath was thrilled that I found out that wheat can bug me, but not critically, citrus gives me stomachaches and dairy messes with my skin. Most everything else was fairly neutral.

I'd say give it a try and see how you feel-- blood tests can also help, but you may just have issues as opposed to celiac disease.

All I know is that it was worth it to make my IBS any better. I now know what to avoid and what to expect when I eat it, and that's completely worth the hassle :)
