I'm exercising every day about thirty minutes. Because I have absolutely no space in my apartment and I cant really go outside because of the weather... I do it in the bathroom because its the place I've got enough space to do some crunches, abs, pushups, squats, quads and some cardio (dancing)... so I have no Idea how many calories I burn and I'm still eating the same, wich is below my calorie goal, I'm worried I might be eating too few calories!!!

You need to invest in a HRM (heart rate monitor) so u know how many calories u r burning. I got mine at walmart for $50. I don't know what your calories are set at but u should be eating back most or all of the calories you burn.

Totally agree with this! Investing in the HRM was a game changer for me. My advice is to NET at least (bare minimum) 1200 cals a day!

    Good luck!

If you are worried you are eating too few calories then you probably are. Go with your gut, plus you said so yourself you are eating below your calorie goal. Seems like a no brainer, eat more!

HRMs are nice, but they aren't required. Pick a diet and exercise plan and stick with it for a month. Patience and consistency are crucial here. See how you're body responds. If you see a reasonable weight loss, then you're doing it right. If not, something needs to be tweaked. What exactly that is will depend on your diet and exercise plan.

Even with an HRM there is still some trial and error that goes into all this... the HRM can just help reduce how much.

I honestly don't understand why we're supposed to eat back the calories we burn. How do we lose weight doing that? Shouldn't we be burning all that fat we've acquired as fuel too? I just don't get it. I can see a person doing that once they are happy with their weight to maintain, but how does one lose weight if there's not a calorie deficit?

You eat them back cause the calories set is what u need to lose the weight. And u need to net that amount to fuel your body or it will go into starvation mode and stop losing weight. Exercising gives you more calories to eat, helps build muscle which will burn more calories at rest and help tone up your body and should give u energy.

Lets say your calories per day is 1400 and you burn 600 calories that day that makes you net only 800 calories that day so you need to eat them back or 3/4 of them back. I hope this makes sense.

It depends on a few things... some people do, some people don't, either way can work.

Set your daily calorie goal. If you factor in your exercise when you set that goal, then you don't have to eat back the cals (nor do you have to log the workouts/cals burned). If you don't factor that in (most people on MFP don't), then you should be logging your workouts and eating back the cals.
