    The fish aren't unhealthy, its what we do to them that makes them unhealthy. If you can fillet it, you can bake it or grill it, which makes it a great dish.

    Other game animals are more difficult, since they tend to have stronger flavors (gaminess) and tend to be darker, greasier meat. Sometimes it helps to soak them in milk, but again, the best bet is cooking them without a lot of added fats and oils.

    We put deer steaks/roasts in the slow cooker with onion soup mix, condensed cream of mushroom soup, a little Worcestershire sauce and a little mustard.

    Oh my gosh...best recipe thus far in my books courtesy of a friend! I crinkled my nose at the thought initially but as soon as it started cooking, my mouth was watering....take out the meat...pour the sauce on mash potatoes....mmmmm...I think I'm going to have to make that again soon!
