Try to spin it to the positive, and think about how many calories you can burn if you shovel the walk.
  • I live in PA. I've just been bundling up and going for my walks. It's absolutely beautiful. Can you imagine, there are some people who have never seen snow? Take advantage of it.
Or.....go sled riding. Climbing back up that hill burns calories.

I live in Chicago and am experiencing the same weather conditions. It was -3 two days ago....and that is without the windchill. I have to admit the snow is getting old but is burns calories to shovel.

  • I am in Boston, MA; up the street and around the corner from you and I share your pain. I have a couple of friends at work that communte to Boston from NH every week. The last couple of days have been inhumanly cold...... once the thermometer goes below zero and keeps going, I get very disturbed:grumble: . My son, however, is practically tingling at the prospect of no shcool tomorrow.

Cross country skiing, snowboarding, skiing, snowshoeing all burn around 1000 cals per hour. Try to get out and enjoy the snow while getting great exercise in!! There is nothing better than a nice cross country ski in the warm spring sun... but then again winter is my favorite season:tongue:

I am in Chicago and it's so freakin' cold here. I can't say how sick and tired I am. I think we have seen 11 minutes of sun since the beginning of February. It's so hard to get motivated to ever get out of bed. I find that my workouts lately, I just don't have the energy.

I can't wait for the summer and for the pool to open. I will be there everyday I don't have to work, swimming with my little guy and getting a great tan!

I live in western WA, right at the snow line, so I have snow when the rest of the valley does not. For the past two weeks I've had 4 to 8 inches in the driveway, finally gone this week. My complaint is the rain. Although this area gets rainforest levels of rainfall, it is not tropical rainforest. It's cold and miserable most of the year. I've lived in Southern Oregon, Southern California, Hawaii, Guam, and Texas. I like the tropical weather better. With changing weather patterns, Oregon is getting to be intolerably hot in the summer, with more and more days reaching 105 degrees or more, Africa Hot I used to say. I do need sunshine occassionally and take trips out of the area at least 4 times a year to get some vitamin D.
