A couple of years ago I broke my ankle, or the bone inside my ankle... And with having a broken ankle you always favor the one that's not hurt, which causes that one to be stronger right? Well I've noticed when walking for say more then 20mins, my ankle that I didn't break starts to burn, while the one I did doesn't bother me one bit... I just figured if anything was gonna hurt it would be the one I hurt. Do you think this is something to do with my sneakers, Something I just need to walk off, or should I see a Dr about this? I'm confused....

Thanks

I tore the ligaments in one ankle years ago so I have a similar problem. My injured ankle was so weak that sometimes it would just give out under me when I was walking so I often put more of the weight and strain on the other foot. You are probably favoring the "healthy" side which is causing more strain on it and leading to the pain. There are many ways to manage it and I'm sure you'll get lots of advice but here's what I did. I had to build up the strength in the injured ankle. I did exercises where I was standing on that leg alone ... you can do many things while balancing on one foot (message me if you want some examples). I made sure to do at least 10 minutes focused on that ankle in each workout. As the injured ankle became stronger, the other ankle returned to normal.

However, if the pain is severe or continues after you have stopped walking, you should go see your doctor. That could be an indication of something more serious.
