Having a hard time...

I didn't keep track of calories at all over the July 4th weekend because I had friends and family in and as just running the whole time. I know I ate terribly but I managed to maintain my current weight which I would consider a success.
However, now I'm having a hard time getting back into the swing of things. I was doing so well before the weekend and now I'm just like blah.
I only have 462 calories left for dinner with my boyfriend's family and I'm pretty sure I'll go over that. I just feel so defeated all of a sudden.
Any motivation is greatly appreciated. :ohwell:

DO NOT get down on yourself. You are human and thus not perfect. Just remember that today, tomorrow is never too late to get back on track. Forget the holiday, forget the weekend, forget this morning. Remember why you're doing this, remember how good you feel when you are doing the right things, remember how the smaller sizes make you feel more confident. I can give you all sorts of food advice but this is a mental issue that doesn't have a lot to do with food. Exercise is always good as it heightens endorphines that make us feel good much like a bowl of ice cream but only better because there is not guilt associated with it.
You've done GREAT to lose what you have. Don't let a couple off days throw everything you've worked so hard for away. Chin up, chest out, eyes forward, start NOW!! :smokin:
Good Luck!!
EDITED to add remember you aren't alone. Not only are we all here for you but we ALL have days like this. We all question at one time or another where our motivation will come from. We all feel like overeating or giving up at one time or another. We aren't a failure if we fall, we are a failure if we don't get back up. :flowerforyou:0 -
First of all it is 1 dinner .. I wouldn't let it get you down.
But that being said take extra servings of salad and veggies at dinner. 500 cals is pretty good fo dinner, so if you fill up on the healthier options you aren't likely to go over by too much. Also, if you have a chance get some exercise in to earn more calories, every little bit of exercise helps. Maybe go fo a nice walk in the evening if you can.:flowerforyou:0 -
Go for a quick walk or get in a quick workout, so that you have a few more calories to play with for dinner. Are you guys going out to eat? If so, browse the restaurants menu online in advance and pick out what you are going to have. Some grilled chicken w/ fresh veggies and a side salad should keep you around 450 cals. Good luck!!0

When I get off track and need to get back in the cycle, I re-analyze my goals!!! Why I want to lose, how much I want to lose and by when, how I will feel and what I can wear....who will notice....EVERYTHING!!! Once when I got off track, I went as far as getting paper and writing down everyones name I knew that I could possible run into, or even see everyday who would notice me startin to look smokn' hot  If you need further encouragment you should add me as a friend!!! We can be MFP motivators!!!0

Man, I did the same thing over the weekend!!!! I totally know how you feel. But sometimes, it is good to give your body a break, and allow those extra calories, because it keeps your metabolism on it's toes, so you won't plateau. I got outta the funk, by not dwelling on what I just did....you can't reverse what you already ate, so all you can do is go from here. I agree with lesliemk. If you are worried about dinner plans with the BF's family, just do a quick workout so you have more calories to play with. Even if you still go over a little, it probably won't be THAT MUCH. Besides, it takes 3500 calories to equal a pound of fat, and I highly doubt you will consume that in one meal. Good luck, and keep your head up!0

gREAT POSTS! I did the same thing the long 4th weekend--had company over, did eating out etc and know what you mean. It has ALWAYS been hard for me to get with the program again after 'falling off the diet wagon' so to speak. I'm trying not to beat myself down so much this time as it was planned ahead. But still I did so good the two weeks prior to the 4th after getting on this site--I'm reading topics and posts on here and getting involved to try to re motivate myself.
WE CAN DO IT!!
