    No.

You should have a day off. I never exercise everyday.

Your body needs time to recover.

If you are active doing other things, you do not have to exercise everyday.

Exercise is only a tool to weight loss, not the main one, which is calorie restriction.

I have to eat more at times in order to exercise. It is all in how you look at it.

I love exercise, but I refuse to be exhausted all the time. I exercise every other day and when I will be cleaning the house all day, I take that day off too.

It also depends on the kind of exercise you are doing. You can take a walk when you are not doing your full exercise routine.

    Hope this helps,

There are mixed opinions in the world of fitness regarding exerice and the 7 day a week routine but for the most part I agree with Connie Lynn is giving you and that is your body needs a break once or twice a week. For the ardent body building or exercise geek 7 days a week is a routine for the rest of us it's something our bodies are not yet used to and we need to be careful.

Whenever we get into the diet and exercise mode we often find ourselves pushing the limits in both reducing what we eat (below what we should) and exercising more (than we're used to) to the point of obsession because we're realizing great results. The problem with both is that after awhile you cause yourself damage eithe physically or psychologically and then you have to stop, wait the requisite recovery time, and then maybe start again or fall into bad habits.

We need to pay attention to our bodies and not exercise all the time -- but then again you have to realize when your mind enters the game and tries to convince you that the body is asking for an odd day off too and then being able to get past that obstruction.

You'll do okay the rest of the week.

It is good to take off one full day a week. My trainer makes me take one day off, while I do at least cardio the other six & weights 3 days. She says your body needs at least one rest day a week.
  • I don't think I was clear. I meant if I have a bad day food wise and don't exercise that day then resume my weekly routine will the bad day catch up with me in the end?
    Thank for all the support!

Some say yes, the idea is you need to reduce or burn your caloric intake by 3500 calories to loose a pound. If you couldn't exercise a little extra and really keep an eye on your calories for the rest of the week then no one would ever loose any weight.

Everyone has one of those days and the important thing is to let it be done and move on to the next day and make sure to eat right and get your exercise in and on the days you don't exercise you really have to watch your calories!

I tried doing exercise every day, but it's hard, and I feel better if I take one day and do other things. I'm good about it on the other 6.
