Shoes for elliptical

Can some of you give me advice on shoes? I primarily use the elliptical for exercise. Occasionally I walk the dog. I had ankle/tendon surgery on my posterior tibial tendon in 2009 and am forever cursed to wear an orthodic insert in my right shoe. Primarily I need great arch support. I need new shoes and I want to buy the right ones!
