Well... I lost a little but not a lot

OK so this is my first week back on the wagon with tracking calories, doing Jillian Michaels DVDs and even getting a yoga class in there. And... I am glad to say that I lost this week, but it was only 0.4 lbs. I mean I know that I am in this for the long haul and the time it takes shouldn't matter as much as the improvements to my diet and fitness but it is kind of disheartening. I am also really struggling with which way I want to go for how many calories I intake. From what I understand from Jillian's podcasts (yes I'm addicted) she is a proponent of eating 1200-1400 calories (for me anyways) and no more than that. But I'm also reading really interesting posts about BMR, TDEE etc. I quite enjoy the thought of being able to eat 1800 calories a day but I'm undecided as to which way to go. Mostly I just needed to vent but if anyone has some advice I would be grateful!!
