A quick workout question..

I workout on saturday and sunday now instead of everyday, will this make any difference to my body?
I workout for three hours, an hour at a time.
I stopped working out everyday as I was advised against it, I was getting a bit obsessive over it.
I workout on a monday too if I'm not at work.

I'd like to lose seven pounds but tone up, so yeah will this help at all or should I just go back to working out as I was?
