Sodium and weight loss?

Hi Everyone! I know too much sodium consumption is bad for you because it can increases your blood pressure and such. But it seems like a problem when I try to get low fat or low calories food because the fat or calories are usually being replaced by sugar or sodium. So with that said, I am always way over my sodium limit. My main concern is that I heard that sodium can affect weight loss...but how? Is it body homeostasis, affect hormones and such? Ahhhhh! Why more sodium = harder to lose weight? Thanks!

Sodium in excessive amounts makes you retain water and in that state it is very diffiult to lose weight. Similiar to when you are having your TOM.0

Here's an article that explains a little about it- and a bit of info on yo-yo diets.

It's not a 'professional' website, per se. But the info on this page is good.0
