Kettlebells Question

Someone explain to me what the big deal is with these things? Besides shape, how is it any different from a dumbbell? What can you do with it that you can't with a weight?

From what I've seen you can use them both interchangeably for a great many exercises but if you look at kettlebell specific exercises many of them involve a swinging motion so you have differences in how certain muscles are being engaged and range of motion.0

I've done 2-3 Kettle Ball work outs, I really felt it, I enjoy doing them and it does work my lower back muscles, which is a huge plus0
