Exercise Reduces Motivation to Eat?

Options
There are a lot of comments from people unable or unwilling to consume all their recommended calories. Some may not be able to eat their exercise calories or they may be unable just to eat the normal daily allotment. There is a study out in the Journal of Applied Science that was mentioned by Runner's World. The researchers found that the brain actually reduces the stimulus to eat after aerobic exercise.

"Exercise reduced neuronal responses in brain regions consistent with reduced pleasure of food, reduced incentive motivation to eat, and reduced anticipation and consumption of food."

"This study suggests you might need to consciously ignore what your brain is saying is appealing and get in a few hundred calories despite their lack of appeal."

Now me personally, I have a pretty healthy appetite but I have found that after especially long runs I am not really hungry, This is why I love this site where you can track your calories and be reminded to follow your plan. I found this article to be interesting.

    thanks for posting.

i normally have a good appetite but lately i've had to set reminders for myself to eat because i wasnt getting the "im hungry" signal.

from hat ive been reading, some aspects of my workouts like sprinting HIIT have an effect on the hormones that regulate appetite and hunger

I never want to eat after exercise, so if I exercise at evening I can't have big dinner. But next day after weight lifting I am extremely hungry
