I did cut back on the sugar just a little and they were fine.
Ingredients
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons quick-cooking oats
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
*1/3 cup packed brown sugar
> 1/4 c packed brown sugar
*1 egg
> 2 tbsp water
*2 tablespoons vegetable oil
> 2 tbsp unsweetened applesauce
*1 cup buttermilk
> 6oz chobani 0% vanilla yogurt (or plain to reduce sugars) + 2oz skim milk
*
> 1 medium banana mashed
*
> 1/2 tsp cinnamon
*
> 1/2 tsp nutmeg
Directions
In a small bowl, combine the oats, flours, baking soda, salt and sugar. In another small bowl, beat the egg, oil and buttermilk. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened.
Pour batter by 1/3 cupful onto a greased hot griddle. Turn when bubbles form on top; cook until the second side is golden brown. Yield: about 10 pancakes.
*REDUCED= { # } Nutritional Facts One serving (2 each) equals 263 {219} calories, 8 {2} g fat (1 g saturated fat), 44 {0} mg cholesterol, 433 {469} mg sodium, 42 {49} g carbohydrate, 3 {5} g fiber, 7 {8} g protein.
Sugars were not listed but I got {21} g sugars
Instead of using any syrup... use sliced bananas or as I saw one person suggest cut a banana in thirds and shave banana "curls" on top. I thought that was a neat idea.0 -
