Runner : Tendon swollen

Hi runners. I have what I think is a swollen tendon on my outer ankle right in the bend between the middle and outer bones. It's not painful, just unsightly. Has anyone ever xpd this? Icing seems to help with the inflammation until I run again. I have a marathon in 6 weeks so too much rest is not an option. I'm curious how long it takes to heal and if anyone can suggest a wrap that will stay put.

Thanks in advance for any input.

It could be an overuse injury but tendons aren't to be trifled with. See you doctor for a proper diagnosis (or at least a referral to a sports medicine specialist), there's always another race......

^^ I agree don't mess with a tendon. Sounds like it's your peroneal brevus tendon. I would get in to see someone about it ASAP. Even though you're not feeling pain now, you're still seeing symptoms of something and it might be throwing off your form - which can translate to problems further up the chain - i.e. knee, hip, back, whatever.

Stop running and get it checked out. Take it from someone who has had major tendon issues and all the above problems as a result.
