I need help! The thought of weight loss both excites me and makes me terribly depressed. Here I am trying to lose weight for what feels like the hundreth time. I am 5'3" and 180 lbs. I have only ever been my ideal weight once in my life; it was shortly after high school. I was getting sick constantly, had no energy and zero motivation for ANTYTHING. I did love how my clothes fit though. I need to lose 50 lbs. I started on MFP back in Feb. then between my children and going back to school I gave up on diet and exercise. The semester is over and I am looking to set up good habits that will carry back through the next school year. I currently am only able to excercise with what is available. My stroller (my children are 21 months and 9 months), Wii, a yoga mat, and some Tae Bo dvds from a previous attempt at weight loss. While I would like to get a gym membership at this point money is the issue. It took a while for me to find a gym that offers child care but now that I have the next issue is finding the money. I am a stay at home mom whose husband just started his own business so money is tight. Before I come up with any more excuses, let me just say that any help would be greatly appreciate.

Hey Friend!! First of all...getting healthy and staying active does NOT have to be about going to the gym (and paying for the membership...) It's all about active lifestyle. What you do every day can count as activity. First start by staying busy at home ALL DAY LONG!!! Spring clean EVERYTHING...and listen to the radio while you do it to pass the time. You can walk...even find a walking buddy...walking is free. Help other people with stuff....Move into new apartments...pull weeds in their yards...pull weeds at chruch...just stay busy all day. If you're busy...NOT sitting and watching TV or in front of the computer...you will not have time to eat. I know that has been my problem...TV and Computer time = Eating time for me. I have to limit it. If I am not working..I am cleaning and doing laundry..cleaning out closets...helping people to mow grass...just what ever to stay busy. AND...I have a lot more friends now!! I only set up specific times to get on the computer for MFP and emails twice a day...that's it!! The rest of the time it's down to business!! I even drag my kids along!! Today we helped a pregnant girl move all her stuff to her new house!! She was so thankful!!...We felt so good about it!!...And We All Kept Moving!! Wah Hoo!!! Dont' need no Stinking Gym Membership!!

Well put! I stay movin. I work mostly on a computer 6 hours a day, so I have a couple of cans at work that I use for weights. I tap my feet to the beat of music. Instead of scooting my chair back to get into a file or to the phone, I stand up and do it. I clean the windows at work, I just try to stay moving. I also walk a lot.

Thank you for the support. I chase back and forth between children all day long, the 9 mo old is not quite mobile yet and the 21 mo old is mobile and quickly getting into anything and everything. It is not a matter of moving. I kept track of how long I sit/on computer/tv/on the floor with the little man, ect for two weeks thinking that I was really sitting around more then I thought. I average 6 hours a day that I am not up and moving. Instead I think it is a combination of intensity or lack there of and diet. I am hoping that by getting back to loging food and exercise I will see a difference.
