Hey there everybody, name's Richard (Rico, for short)
Recently joined and let me tell you WHAT A DIFFERENCE IT MAKES WHEN YOU ACTUALLY KEEP TRACK OF WHAT YOU EAT!!!
I feel like I have so much more energy, I can wake up earlier, don't feel tired all day and makes me happy seeing results!!!

Here's my story so far...
I moved out of my step fathers house 3 years ago and bought a house with my girlfriend.
Everything was good until I noticed I felt like crap, just tired all day, grumpy, sad and just sleepy as hell.
Since I was at such a busy stage in my life, I never had time to cook or shop for food. So I was beginning to eat out more and more. Now normally I wasn't too concerned, because I've always been a skinny guy no matter what, I was never able to break 140.
So I just kept eating out. I received a company vehicle to drive ( I used to walk/run everywhere i had to go) and stopped walking (why walk when you can drive right?)
So my diet began looking like this
skip breakfast
lunch: Double quarter pounder with cheese meal (AND 2 packs of mc chicken sauce squeezed onto the burger) up sized!!!
supper:same as lunch or KFC, Taco bell, Wendys , Burgar king, A and W or arby's
midnight snack:same as supper....(I get sick at the thought of this)

So as you can see, I was feeling really crappy all day everyday. I kept this up for 3 years until one day I looked in the mirror after a shower.I felt embarrassed and very self conscious. I felt ashamed that i had let it get that bad.(@ 165 LBS, doesn't sound like much, but considering i'm 5'5, It Is quite alot)
I usually spent most of my cheque on fast food, so I was always broke. And that was my excuse when asked why I don't eat healthy. (Because it cost too much lol)
Finally one morning, I decided I could no longer do this to myself,It stressed me out and I was always poor and felt like crap everyday. I promised myself that I would change, workout, eat right and FEEL GREAT!!

So here I am now, been on MFP for 2 weeks, lost a few pounds and started P90x. Trying to eat healthy and reach my goals.
So add me as a friend, let's swap stories, give encouragement and help each other out!!!!

  • Hello I'm new to this as well. I can relate Taco Bell was my addiction though lol. After being on my feet for 8+ hr days the last thing on my mind was cooking much less working out. Add me if you would like another mfp friend. Stick with it and best of luck with your goals.
