I dont have a scale so I weigh myself at the gym after I work out. I usually workout in the afternoon. Are there disadvantages to this? I know lots of people weigh in when they wake up but does it really make a difference?

As long as you weigh at the same time and compare those readings, it really doesn't matter.

There's a normal fluctuation in weight (for some it's 5-8lbs, for some less or more) every single day, not to mention various other factors such as clothing & how much water you're taking on/losing.

This is usually why you're told not to get excited with 1 or 2lb losses over a week or so.

Personally for me it does because I usually weight 3 to 5 pounds heavier. I like to weigh myself once a week and I do it in the morning after I go to the restroom if I have to. My friend was weighing herself everyday after she worked out and was disappointed because she wasn't seeing any results but when I told her to only weigh herself on Monday mornings after she woke up and used the restroom if she had to she started to see better results.

No, just try to be consistent @ when you weigh yourself. After a workout you will often register a little lighter than before due to water loss. If you compare it to a weight from a different time of day you won't get a good measure of progress. Watch your waist to hip ratio to. It is really as important, perhaps more, than weight for general health.

I have heard this before but im not sure that it is true for me. As a lose my ratio gets smaller. My hips are shrinking much faster than my waist.
