SBF2: Reboot Boogaloo! July 10th

Today, I'm up early with the intention of trying a new 9:30 "heavy terrain" spin class at the gym. Judging from that description that means lots of hills. I like hills. (or, I do now. . .at 10:30 I might not)
Then, I have a chiropractor appointment, and then I'll write. I haven't worked on my comps at all this week. (naughty) so I have today and tomorrow to catch up. My goal is five hours a week, so if I get really involved in writing, I'll be able to do 2 and a half hours a day, right?
I ate out yesterday for the first time in two weeks. Also, I put on a pair of pants and they were longer, which is always my first sign that I'm losing something. So, woot! My only thing that's radically different is my ban on restaurants. I'm actually enjoying my food prep. I put on music and take it as decompression time. So far, so good.
So, to summarize:
spin, back cracked, writing, cooking, eating and drinking water. Oh, and my vitamins (I've been slacking on that. . .it's so easy to forget)

Just weighed myself.
Since the last time (I can't remember when that was, actually. . .I think three weeks ago) I'm down three pounds, back in the 140s and pretty darn pleased with my "no restaurants allowed, eat when hungry and then only a handful of food at a time if it's not a planned meal time and eat mostly vegan food" plan. Longest diet name ever, CP? It's pretty long. Maybe it needs an acronym.0 -
Way to go V on being down 3 pounds! Pretty sweet. I wish I enjoyed being in the kitchen more. It's my least favorite place. Since eating better it seems all I do is cook and wash dishes. My least favorite things to do. Maybe it will get easier and better.
I still have no idea what I am doing. Surprising? Not really. I stepped on the scale and I am down 4 pounds from a week ago but my AF was in town so that may be all water weight. I put on my shorts this morning and they don't feel any looser. I was looking at the SB diet last night because I had lost weight on that before (I found out that I can't have whole wheat so I quit altogether. I think it would have worked.). I lost 9 pounds in two weeks, so I know it was working. It is a lot like the candida diet except it allows cheese/dairy and processed meats. I am wondering about having bacon or Canadian bacon a couple of times a week so I can have something else for breakfast. I also decided that if I am going to have a little "sugar", I should have it first thing in the morning so I have all day to burn it off. The rest of the day will be minimal sugars. And I think I will allow myself a piece of fruit about twice a week. It just feels wrong to eliminate fruit completely. Fruit was in the garden of Eden... I think it was meant to be eaten.
So that's kind of what I am coming up with. I am sure it will change. My plan is to stick as close to the diet as I can for at least another week and see how I am feeling (and a little weight loss doesn't hurt either).
Breakfast is ready. Have a good day!

Oh yeah. Just checked the weather. 105 today with a heat index of 111. I think I'll fry eggs outside today!

But of course, the NRAEWHATOAHOFAATIINAPMTAEMVF plan! Sounds like a winner to me.
Today is mostly rest for me. I forgot to do pushups last night so I'll do them tonight, and my normal after-lunch walk. The last couple of days my weight has been down a couple pounds, so maybe my backslide wasn't quite as dire as I had thought. It's been good to get back to exercising regularly and eating in a way that doesn't make me feel too guilty. I know, guilt shouldn't really be a part of the picture... maybe just awareness that I've done something that's not sustainable.
MM, I think you are on to something. It sounds like food looms larger in your mind that is probably healthy. And that is one of the problems with diets or strictly tracking your food - even though it can be a really good idea, it is easy to get obsessive about it. You don't want to be thinking about food all the time. So you have to strike a balance somehow. We'll be here for you! :flowerforyou:

Finding a balance with food and exercise is our whole goal here, right?
After joining the gym yesterday (so husband and I could work out together), I realized I now go to 4 gyms. I have my regular women only gym, this latest gym, the gym where I take a yoga class (I just pay for yoga classes, not membership), and the one where I teach. It's a little ridiculous, don't you think?
Today, maybe a yoga class this morning, maybe treadmill. Husband want to try the gym tonight, so we'll be going there as well - only for 30 minutes or so though.

OK, so review/vent of the morning spin class:
Mid-morning spin class crowds drive me crazy. It's a bunch of jabbering/complaining about the husband/kids (which I do not do and don't understand. . .I am 98% of the time filled with gratitude and love about my husband) and pissing/moaning about how hard the class is.
I had visions of having a Bob Harper moment (his meltdown, where he just told someone to Shut Up (paraphrasing and editing the profanity) and telling them to "Suck it up, shut up and pedal!"
Which is why I probably shouldn't be a spin teacher, as I might do that. :ohwell:
On the upside, it was a hard class, and I burned 689 calories, so that's good. . .0 -

I don't know that it's that ridiculous. . .if gyms weren't so darn expensive in the city, I would definitely do this. . .I'd love to get it so that virtually any time of the day I could go to a class. . .My dream gym would be open 24 hours a day, have multiple classes every hour on the hour and have a "no talking during spin class rule".0 -

I'd love to have more classes offered. There is a gym less than a mile from my house that has all I want, but it's way too expensive and you have to pay extra for classes!0 -
Hey Vivia,
that brownie recipe...how many servings does that make? It's not one is it? Do you know if they freeze well? I don't want to sit and eat the whole thing at one time if I'm not suppose to.

According to the cookbook, that makes four servings. According to me, it makes one. I figured the calories once and for that entire recipe, it's in the neighborhood of 600 calories. . .so I only eat the whole thing if I'm subbing out a meal for it. I find it's useful sometimes to let it sit for a while and then roll it into little bite-sized brownie balls. For whatever reason, I'm sometimes able to eat just one bite, but only if I do it that way (some weird psychology of a truffle shaped thing vs. a brownie shaped thing. . .I guess)
It's a dangerous recipe, that's for sure. Whenever I give it to someone and they thank me, I always say "you're welcome and I'm sorry" because it's so good/bad depending on how you look at it.0 -
Ha ha, V. You're funny.
Just had to share an Alex funny with you all. The wind is blowing a bit today so while we were eating Alex was watching the trees in our backyard. He would laugh and say, "Do it again." Then he'd laugh again. I didn't know what he was laughing at. A few minutes later he said, "The big tree is giggling." LOL! I don't know where he comes up with these things but he's hilarious! He used to look at the wall (close up to the ceiling) and giggle at nothing. I figured he could see angels. Hey, who knows? Maybe the tree was really giggling!

That boy is a poet, I think. . .
Oh, and according to the cookbook, the brownies will keep in the fridge for up to a week, or in the freezer up to a month. (they never last that long here. . .)0 -

CP, I love you for taking the time to A: actually figure out that acronym. . .and B. make me laugh so loud my husband called out from the back room what's so funny?0 -
 I thought about trying to shorten it but thought it was just too funny as it was.
I'm not quite on the plan yet, though, since we ate out tonight. It wasn't quite vegan. We went to a quirky little sandwich place - I had a 'corn mash' half-sandwich (a hot open-face sandwich with mashed corn, roasted red pepper, a little crisscross of cheddar cheese, drizzled apricot BBQ sauce and crunchy onion bits sprinkled on top) and a goat cheese, rosemary and black pepper half-sandwich, with yummy ginger carrots on the side. I had a seltzer instead of soda, and later my husband and I split a lemon ice kiddie cone (we were still pretty full, even after a walk). Mmmm.
I am terribly curious about these brownies, and even though I'm not a big fan of dates, I am tempted to give them a try!0
