Protein Shakes for Breakfast for Women

I have done some reading and found some to say that protien shakes in he morning help stabalize blood sugars.
I'm curious if other women make a protein shake for breakfast and what do you put in it? What else do you have with it?
Do you have it plain? I tried one this morning and was curious if a protien shake with a bit of pb and banana was enough but have also noticed I taste the bananas all morning after drinking them. Any suggestions on what to you?
