same old story... i drink a tone of diet coke because i like the taste of it. im not too picky on my sodas just when they tamper with them like the lemon in the diet coke. whats with that? any way when your trying to eat healthy is diet coke ok? i know for calorie wise it is but its not so good for the teeth. so what do you think? i have been drinking a lot of water but i still gotta have my diet coke. i do limit to 4 a day now but some times i do go over that limit. like i think i did today. .......

I steer clear of soda. I really try my best to stay away from processed foods as well.

My advice is to limit yourself further. 4 cans is a lot of crap to put in your body.

I'll never tell anyone NOT to eat or drink something, but I will advise them to limit their consumption. You should limit your consumption of diet soda to no more than 24 oz of diet soda per day. I'm not concerned about the fact that it's full of chemicals and whatnot, only that when you are drinking that much soda you probably are also not getting in the amount of water you should be drinking.

I drink between 64 oz & 96 oz of water a day or more on occasion. Because I don't really care for the taste of water I usually add some Mi0 flavoring. I know, people make a big deal about Mi0, but frankly, I'm not worried about it. Water is extremely important, so make sure you are drinking plenty of water and go ahead and enjoy your diet soda on a limited basis.

Bottom line, none of us need to follow a diet, we need to change our attitudes about food and change our lifestyles. If what you are doing to lose weight isn't something you can see yourself doing/eating for the rest of your life, then it is only going to work for you temporarily.

Good luck on your journey!! :)

Been drinking Diet Pepsi for years (2-3 24oz. bottles a day) plus 100 oz. of water a day. and for me it has not done anything to effect my weightloss and I have managed to lose a few pounds.... I can think of a lot of things worse than me drinking some soda's if I still weighed 560 lbs. So I say if you like it and you are still able to lose weight then why stop.... Best of Luck....

I love Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi,,,either one. I drink a lot of it at work, but add a whole lot of extra ice to it, trying to mitigate some of the chemical and adding some water. I figure it's better than not drinking enough, and I sometimes do forget to drink enough.

    I agree with Debbie

there's tons of people on here that still drink soda and just stick to diet. As long as you are limiting your consumtion you will be just fine.

I had a problem with soda just before I started MFP, and I hate the taste of the diet versions. What worked for me is I wouldn't allow my self to drink anything else, until I had my 64oz of water. (I excluded my morning coffe because no one wants to see me go without that!) This got me out of the habit of always grabing the soda or sugary drinks. Now I only have soda on saturday nights with my rum  and I don't miss it at all.
