Smokin!!!!
No, not Smokin' hot :grumble:
I have a Graduate working for me on a project. We have about 30 of them at the moment, and they are all delightful, hardworking and a pleasure to deal with. BUT...
My current graduate does a lot of close work with me - ie sitting at my desk reporting on stuff we look at on my screens... close quarters and he smells - no, reeks of cigarette smoke.
I don't think I have a leg to stand on though in terms of saying something - I've tried the subtle approach of "would you like some gum" and it's not working. Between that and the coffee breath I just try to get him out of my personal space as quickly as possible. Which means I'm not spending as much quality time with him as with the others so we both lose out.
Aaarrggghhh!! We have plenty of smokers in the office, but why on earth does it stick to some people so badly?!?

he probably smokes one just before he gets to your desk. either try to schedule him when he cant go outside before seeing you or just tell the dude you are allergic to it and ask if he could not smoke just before seeing you. dont worry about offending him....
smokers cant smell their own selves and dont realize how bad they stink0
