i have so many chest, back, bicep, tricep and upper body work-outs, but i am really lacking in lower body. my upper body & arms are very toned, but i am having trouble using weight-lifting exercises with my hips, thighs, abs, legs.

(NOT trying to spot-reduce fat, i am trying to build muscle in my lower body.)

our gym has only about 2 ab "machines" and very few for my mid-region and legs. can anyone please introduce me to some weight-lifting exercises that i could use to increase muscle in these areas? thanks! (PS would love to start using the free-weight area, but i haven't ventured over there yet! LOL would love input on those exercises.)

squats and deadlifts will work wonders.

spend some time learning proper form. (youtube is actually a great source, elitefts.com put out a video series called "so you think you can squat" that is very informative)

Squats dramatically helped my glutes and hamstrings.

You know what hits your hips, thighs, abs, legs super hard? Barbell squats.

    Yea, this.

Head over to youtube and search for them... they'll show you what they are and can give you some guidance on form/technique.

might I add - squat/deadlift form is amazingly important to prevent injury. Be careful, start light.

Yeah, but that's kind of the point. This stuff isn't supposed to be easy.
