Mother's Day Fall Out

Oh how good I've been. Counting calories, working out religiously, eating well. Yesterday we had the family over. I measured out my ham portion, my scalloped potatoes and took a small portion of overnight salad, didn't even eat a roll. Then my husband brought out the stawberry whip cream cake. Since it was for Mother's Day I said I'd take a teeny tiny piece. OMG!!! The whip cream icing was to die for. I ate my piece, minus the strawberry filling. My daughter didn't want her icing, "oh can I have it". Little extra icing on the side of the cake. It was sooooo good and I was out of control. What was wrong with me? My husband drove my daughter home. they left one piece. I found it in the fridge later and ate it.
My question is: I underate everyday (1200 calories) last week and binged on the cake yesterday. Am I going to set myself back from one day of binging? I actually lost 1/2lb this morning on the scale, but tell myself the cake binge won't show up for several days. I feel like shooting myself.
