PLEASE DON'T HATE ME!!

HI! I'm not sure how to say this without sounding obnoxious, but here goes: I am on myfitnesspal at my therapist's suggestion in order to track what I eat because I tend not to eat enough. As he puts it, I've been "flirting" with an eating disorder forever, and I also have issues with ADD and anxiety/depression. More and more news seems to pop up about the connection between nutrition and mood, and I basically can't deny it anymore. It makes sense that what we put in our bodies food wise would have a profound affect on our mental state. You know, if the car does't have gas how can it drive type of thing. So. I"m not here to lose weight. I am here to hold myself accountable for what I do (and don't!) eat, to be aware of what I need to eat more of, and to hopefully utilize nutrition/exercise as a way to gain health and boost mood. I want to see if I can basically maintain my current weight or just gain maybe 5 or so pounds but do it in a way that won't freak me out. Hi!!!

    Hi erburdette!
I don't think anyone's going to hate you. In my experience those of us who are emotional overeaters are merely the other side of the same coin that is anorexia/bulimia. Anyone who dismisses you because your reason for being here is the reverse of theres is not worth bothering with! I hope you'll find the site useful, helpful and supportive to you.

Why would we hate you? Seriously, give us a bit more credit than that! Not eating enough is just as bad as eating too much. You are in the same boat as we are with the opposite problem. Good luck to you.
