After reading the recent topic on seeing how long you can hold plank, I decided to start doing small things like that during the day. Since I now drink a bunch of water, I of course have to go to the bathroom often. Yay, opportunity!

So when I go for one of my many jaunts over to that special place, I now take a minute to do a small excercise, as well. (We have a small waiting room thing attached to the women's bathroom, so good place for me to do this.) I began with just doing a plank, but have now started switching it up to holding a wall squat, or doing as many pushups as I can (which means 2), or a few lunges across the floor.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I spend most of my day itching to get away from my desk, and then feeling incredibly lazy when I get home because all I've done all day is sit. This way I work off a bit of my energy, but keep up the motiviation later when I get home. Because we all know that exercise leads to more exercise!

Just wanted to share

Me too Me too! I've upped my water intake & decided each time I go to pee (which is a LOT) I'd do 50 crunches. I would do pushups if my arms didn't hate me  I think I can do 1 without feeling like they'll fall off. LOL But I thinks it's a great idea - although the walking to the potty alone is quite a bit of walking when you pee every 45 seconds. haha

    :drinker: Cheers to the peeing-exercisers!!

I have been thinking about this a lot lately. As I sit here in my chair in front of my computer, I just feel my butt getting wider and dimplier. :frown:

I need to think of something that I can do to get my heart rate up a couple of times a day (without anyone seeing me!)

That's the same way with me! I thought about doing planks in the bathroom the other day at work, but I was scared someone was going to walk in!! :embarassed:

I do step touches while I'm at the copier. I just look like I"m fidgeting to other people, so I shouldn't look to weird!

One of the most awful pilates(i think) exercise.

Monday I started working out with a trainer and I had to do different things so she could check my flexibility. One of the things was a plank(at the time I didn't know it was called that) when she demonstrated I thought oh that is easy WRONG!!!!!

It reminds me of a push up but instead of holding yourself up with your hands you have your elbows and arms down on the floor and you have your body level.

Great idea! I have to walk through the company exercise room to get to the ladies room/lockeroom. I will start doing a plank (on my way back) if no one is in there. I'm known to be eccentric so I don't think anyone walking in on me would think much of it. "Oh, there's that silly Christina. What is she doing now?"

:indifferent: I'd rather be kicked in the gut than do one more plank.
Not only would that be quicker but the feeling in the end is pretty much the same. :noway:
